Relatives

Obviously the best source for information for this site comes from our relatives. For photographs I hope to note the initials of who has the source (if not the original then the closest we have). Some of the scans on this web site are taken from photocopies, hopefully in the future scans of the originals will be possible.

Censuses

The various censuses provide a wealth of information, such as (sometimes) addresses, relationships, ages and occupations.

Here are transcribed and collated censuses for the following families:

Allfrey

Carrington

Chettleburgh

Engleheart

Maps

Norwich (South) 1905 - Norfolk Sheet 63.15 (Old Ordnance Survey Maps)

This was supplied by Alan Godfrey Maps (via the Society of Genealogists) from his series of about 1000. It cost under 3 (including postage) so was really good value, and the reproduction is excellent as well.

Books

"A Pub Walk with a difference in 1883"  - By Derek McDonald

This guide is available from Norwich and costs just 3.50 with the proceeds going to "The big C appeal" - a cancer appeal for the local area. We have bought one of these each, but you should go and get your own copy. This describes all the pubs inside the Norwich City walls in 1883.

"Pubs over the City Walls In 1883"  - By Derek McDonald

This guide is available from Norwich and costs just 3.50 with the proceeds going to "The big C appeal" - a cancer appeal for the local area. We have bought one of these each, but you should go and get your own copy. This carries on outside the Norwich City walls where the above guide stopped.
