Richard Garlinge was born in around 1811 in Goodneston (near Wingham) in Kent.
He married Mary Marley in the September quarter of 1837 registered in the district of Eastry (which includes Nonington).
They had the following children:
In 1861 the family (Richard and Mary and their three daughters Charlotte, Jane and Emma) were living in Holt Street in Nonington, Kent (the fourth census entry from the vicarage), Richard was a jobbing gardener, and his daughter Charlotte was a charwoman.
In 1871 he was still living in Holt Street in Nonington along with his wife - their daughter Emma was boarding next door.
Richard Garlinge died in the Spring of 1887 in the district of Eastry, Kent (Volume 2a, Page 578)
